Yes, it’s spring and from here on in, most festivals will come fast and furious with everything imaginable on offer except what the York Regional Forest Festival offers – peace and quiet.
That’s right. No cotton candy, no sticky shoes or carnival rides that make you sick. Just nature at it’s best experienced through a 3.6 km guided walk through the hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Spring is a magical time in the forest. Listen to spring bird calls and discover spring flowers. Meet forestry professionals, learn about tree planting, hitch a ride on a wagon ride and enjoy the day.
That might be better done with some bug-repellant and tall socks in case poison ivy rears its pointy green leaves in your direction. You’ll learn about that too.
The event runs May 28 from 10am to 3pm at the Holidge Tract at 16389 Hwy #48. Register online at www.york.ca or 1-877-464-9675.
